Recd. 7 p.m. Alexandria. Nov. 9. General Sir Bernard Freyberg travelled from Italy for the memorial service at El Alamein in ho tour of New Zealand comrades who feli in North Africa. Four hundred officers and other ranks and nursing services, the majority of whom have relatives buried in the cemetery, gathered to pay tribute. Messages were received from Field-Marshals Alexander and Montgomery. General Freyberg. o i behalf of the New Zealand Division, sent messages to all divisions who participated in the Western Desert battles.
