DEAD BODY OF CHILD
MEDICAL EVIDENCE POINTS TO MURDER T (P A.) Nelson, Nov. 9. “The evidence of the doctor indicates wilful murder,” said the coroner, at an inquest concerning the body of a newly-born female European child found in the Maitai River bed in only a few inches of water yesterday. It was wrapped in sacking and paper. A Nelson Hosnital doctor, Dr. Brian Hill, said a post-mortem showed that the lungs were those of a child which had breathed. The body did not present the appearance of death bv drowning, exposure, or immersion in water. The inquest was adjourned to enable the police to ascertain the identity of the body and make investigations.
