Mr. Justice Finlay leaves Wanganui this afternoon for New Plymouth, where he will preside at tha quarterly sessions of the Supreme Court, which open there next Monday. Mr. A. G. Horsley made his first appearance in the Supreme Court, tv anganui. yesterday, since his return from service overseas. He was one of counsel engaged in a case which Involved the administration of a will. Mr. H. Prowse, acting-general secretary of the Auckland Y_M.C.A. for (lie past three years, has been appointed general secretary of the Wanganui Y.M.C.A. in succession to Mr. A. L. Rounthwaite, who resigned some months ago. Mr. Prowse will take up his new duties about the middle of the present month. The Rev. J. M. McKenzie, who has been assistant director of missions of the Presbyterian Church for eight ’ years, has tendered his resignation. This was accepted with regret by the assembly at Invercargill. The resignation is to take effect from September 30, 1946. The assembly decided to place on record its appreciation of Mr. McKenzie's services.—P.A.
