tP.A.I Christchurch, Nov. 7. Entries in the fat stock sections at Addington to-day all showel a decrease on last week's big numbers. There was no great change in values m fat sheep and fat cattle, high prices still being obtained. Fat pigs also sold well at a slight advance on last week. The entry of store sheep was very limited. Store Sheep.—The entry dropped from 2421 last week io 900, of which 740 were ewes and lambs and 160 hoggets. The quality of the ewes and lambs forward was'the best to date this season, and prices showed a corresponding advance. The highest figure was 2.3 s lid for 34 ewes and 36 lambs, all counted, and a pen of 42 ewes and 48 lambs made 225. Another draft of 64 ewes and 74 lambs sold for 19s. Medium quality made from 15s to Is 6d. and inferior to Ils Bd. all counted. Two small pens of ewe hoggets made 38s and 355, respectively, and a pen of 69 shorn wether hoggets, 17s. Fat Sheep.—The fat sheep entry was only about half of that of last week, approximately 3500 being penned. Three-quarters of the number were shorn sheep, only an occasional pen ol woolly sheep being forward. The wether market for best quality was as good as fast week, but. medium and light did not meet with the same demands. The highest price for woolly wethers was 63s Id best shorn wethers made from 48s 7d to 59s Id. Ewes, in the early part of the sale, sold better than last week, but over the concluding stages the market lell below last week’s level. Woollv ewes made from 47s Id to 49s Id young shorn ewes from 31s 7d to 35s Id, and shorn aged ewes from 24s 7d to 30s 7. Fat Cattle. -The entries and quality both showed a decline, 474 head being forward agamst 681 last week Che market opc-ned at better than I last week » parity, but towards the , middle of the sale the competition I slackened, and, in the final stages, had lost more than its earlier On the average there was little ■ change from last week. Extra prime steers made to £2B; prime, £22 to-£24 10s; extra prime heifers, to £2O; prime. £ll to £l7 15s; extra prime cows to £l9; prime, £l3 to £l5; aged and inferior, to £9. Fat Pigs.—The porker yarding was the smallest of the season and competition was keen, with prices showing little change. Choppers were also in small supply, and values rose by £1 per head. The bacon yarding comprised some god quality pigs. The market was dragging early, but improved corsiderably and over the late stages was fully on a par with last week’s good rates. The average price per lb. was 9d to 9ld.
