PARTY OF REPATRIATED SERVICEMEN

ARRIV AL BY RIMUTAKA. (P.A.) Wellington, Sept. 24. A small repatriation party or New Zealand servicemen and their dependants arrived in Welington to-day by the Rimutaka, and was welcomed by an official party headed by the Minister of Defence, Mr. Jones. The draft consisted mainly oi R.N.Z.A.F. personnel, their wives and a number of children, but there were also Naval and Army personnel aboard, in addition to about 70 civilian passengers for New Zealand. Included among the R.N.Z.A.F. personnel were Squadron-Leader J. C. F. Hayter, D.F.C. and bar, a New Zealand short service commission pilot in the R-A.F. who had a distinguished record in the battle of Britain and later employed on special duties in Turkey. Two widows of New Zealand airmen, each with a child were among the party.
