DEATH FOR “HAW-HAW”
London, Sept. 19. William Joyce has been sentenced to death. When the black-capped Judge passed the sentence of death at the Old Bailey in London to-day, the notorious “Lord Haw-Haw” bowed deeply and then, with a cheerful nod to his brother and friends in Court, he gave a kind of Nazi salute and disappeared down the steps to the condemned cell. Joyce’s solicitors intend to launch an appeal at once. It may come up next month.
