RUMOURS OF ENGAGEMENT CAUSE RESENTMENT TRAINING FOR THE THRONE, (Special Correspondent—N.Z.P.A ) Recd. 8.10 n.m. London, Sept. 7. The inevitable guessing game of namin" the possible fiance for Princess Elizabeth has caused resentment among sections of the public here. Tt is felt the Princess who is only 19, should not have her private life cluttered with rumours. The latest was that tn marrv the 23-vears-old Prince Philip of Greece. It followed a 12-dav old gossip that she was to be engaged to Prince Charles of Belgium, aged 41. Poth reports bad to be officially denied from Buckingham Palace. Annarentb’ hnth came from the continent. Perhaps the rumour regarding Prince Philip is based on the fact that he is a second cousin to thp Princess, and several of his leaves from the Roval Naw at Windsor. At present Prince Philin fc in the Far East actin" as A.D.C. tn his uncle. Admiral Hp is a cousin of the Kin" of Greece. and has lived most of hi n life in England.
