PACIFIC PERSONNEL COMING HOME
WAHINE AS A TRANSPORT
(PA..) . Wellington, Sept. 7. The Minister of Defence, Mr. Jones, stated to-day that the interIsland steamer Wahine would be withdrawn from service on arrival at Wellington on September 15, and until further notice she would be used to bring soldiers and airmen now stationed in the Pacific back to New Zealand. Air transport would also be used to bring back Pacific personnel.
