Wellington R.S.A. Tne total financial membership of the Wellington R.S.A. at the end of August was 8125. This includes 3951 members who have served overseas in World War 11, which reflects the increasing interest being taken in the association by returned service personnel of to-day. Wanganui Weather. According to statistics compiled bj the Wanganui City Council, tne total rainfall ror last month was 2.57 m., rain railing on 15 days. The Wanganui Harbour Board’s tug Kahanui, which has been on war service with the Royal New Zealand Navy, is at present on the patent slip, Wellington, be.ng refitted before being handed back to the board at an early date. The vessel was taken over by the Navy in 1942, and has since been employed in Auckland and Wellington. The Kahanui, which is a tw.n screw vessel of 2U? tons, was built in the United Kingdom in 1926, and arrivel at Castlecijit' in 1927.

Territorial U .its Disbanded. The disbanding of Territorial Force units in Area 6 (Wanganui) has practically been completed, it was stated at the Wanganui Anmy Office yesterday. The few men still remaining In the various units are engaged solely on completing the return of equipment of all kinds to central Army stores. Under the disbandment scheme there will not yen be unit cadres retained, and al] territorial training regulations have been cancelled. Army was the speed of he New Zealand Division’s movements, which was due to their excellent drivers and maintenance men, was expressed by Mr. M. G. Bignell, retuyng president of the Wanganui branch of the New Zealand Retail Motor Trade Association at lhe annual meeting on Thursday. Tlie branch decided to record its appreciation of the work overseas of the men in the Dominion motor industry. Appreciation was also expressed of the personnel in the motor business for valued service in a oimcult war period. Mention was made of the cooperation given by Mr. G. A. Plummer, Wanganui district manpower officer.
