WANGANUI BRANCH MEETING. Presided over by the retiring president, Mr. M. G. B’gnell, the annual meeting of the New Zealand Retail Motor Trade Association (Wanganui branch) was held on Thursday. Members were present from Waverley, Marton, Turakina, and Wanganui. The election of officers resulted: President’, Mr. F. Hackett, vice-presidents, Messrs. T. Ward (Marton), A. B. Cunningham (Waverley), and M. G. Bignell (Wanganui); committee, Messrs. S. C. Shenton, A. S. Guthrie, J. H. Henson, C. W. Preece, F. Birkett, J. Gilbertson, D. Martin, E, Harman, F. Walker. Mr. A. R. Donaldson was reelected secretary and treasurer. Mr. Ward was unanimously nominated as councillor on the Dominion executive, j Mr. Shenton was appointed delegate to the Dominion conference to be held in Christchurch next month. The hope was expressed at the meeting that members would give all help to rehabilitate men coming back to the motor industry or wishing to enter the business. Reference was made to the newlyinstituted technical training scheme for apprentices which is to be coni ducted or. a Dominion-wide basis. The trade was obtaining complete sets of vehicle parts through the American authorities in New Zealand and those would be suppled free to technical colleges. The New Zealand association is setting aside 12.G00 a year fop the next five eyors on this training scheme, the branch was advised. surroundings and kindly well-wishers, in this sale and blessed country of ours.
