A crossing smash in the borough this morning resulted in the death of Mrs. Esme Preddy, whose husband is on active service overseas. mother, Mrs. Ingram, was seriously injured and taken to hospital. A rake of trucks obscured the view, the engine of a goods train striking the car squaie on. carrying it over the bus:nblock. Mrs. Preddy wa.s literally cut to pieces. A later message says that Mrs. Ingram is also dead. She leaves a husband. Mrs. Preddy M’as ageo 37 and had no children.
