POLISH SOUDERS SENTENCED
COURTSMARTIAL IN SCOTLAND Recd. 8 p.m. London, April 23. After a series of courts-martial, held in a Scottish town, 30 Jewish soldiers of the Polish Army were sentenced from one to three years’ imprisonment for desertion, reports the Press Association's diplomatic correspondent. The accused alleged ill-treatment by non-Jewish Polish soldiers, for which reason they travelled to London, intending to join the British Army. During the trial each man was asked whether he would return to the Polish army. All refused. The correspondent adds that he was informed that it was because of this refusal that the sentences were relativity heavy. The courts-martial consisted of Polish officers.
