GERMANS USE TANKS
London, March 8. German tanks went into action today against strikers in Milan . and other centres in northern Italy, where there are no prospects of the strike ending, said Bari radio. The Fascist Ministry for Home Affairs announced that the strikers totalled 208,000, but the figure is four times that. Thousands of shopkeepers have closed their doors. r The strike leaders have urged all Italians to participate and to take up arms if necessary, because this would be decisively important in coming fateful days. An Associated Press correspondent, in a despatch from the Italian frontier, reports that the Fascist labour commissariat has threatened the strikers with a real trial before special tribunals, and employers have been forbidden to deal with workers.
