MODIFIED CARNIVAL FOR WANGANUI
PLANS FOR FEBRUARY Wanganui is to have a modified week of carnival beginning on'February 19. "While it is not possible to have a full carnival week, we feel that the public would appreciate a modified scheme,” said the chairman of the Tourist. Publicity and Development Committee of the City Council. Mr. T. S. Russell, last night. The events listed during the period of lhe carnival are:--February 19.—Rowing regatta. February 23.- Scottish Society, in co-operation with the Wanganui Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club, in athletic and cycling events on Cook's Gardens. February 24. District swimming champions'll ips at the Gonville Ballis. September 26. New Zealand Marching Championships. The programme is to be under thei jurisdiction of the City Council s Tourist.
