DECREASE IN STERLING FUNDS. The sterling exchange funds of tho Reserve Bank on November 15 totalled .£27,657,609, a decrease of £1,558,009. Tho note issue at £34,850,105 shows an increase for the week of £ 145,387. The statement, lift at Monday, November 15, i« as follows:
Proportion of reserve to notes and other demand liabilities, 33.338 per cent., compared with 39.617 per cent, on November 8. The reserve on November 15 was £30,448,031, a decrease of £1,558,351. A year ago the reserve was £28,873,406. Sterling exchange on November 15 amounted to £27,657,609, a decrease of £1,558,000. Liabilities in currencies other than New land currency were £11,455 (an increase of £342), thus making the bank’s net overseas assets £27,646,154, a decrease of £1,558,851. A year ago these assets were £26,071.529. Advances to the State Marketing Department totalled £1,390,874, a decrease of £40,766. A year ago they were £2.402,449. Advances to the State for other purpoees are unchanged at £37,735,000, compared with £24,300,000 a year ago. The note issue on November 15 was £34,850,105, an increase of £145,387. A year ago it was £27,983,343. Demand liabilities to the State amount to £15,839,615, a decrease of £2,881,435. The trading banks’ reserve balances total £27.986.853, an increase of £1,189,112. Other liabilities at £744,369 have increased by £109,206. The statement balances at £82,707,867, a decrease of £1,266,130.
