LEVIN CARD AT OTAKI

REVIEW OF PROSPECTS Unless the scratching pen is freely used, the chances are that there will be twelve races at Otaki to-day, when the Levin Racing Club’s meeting will be the attraction. In four events, the Maiden, Weraroa Hack, Champion Hack and Hokio Hack, divisions have been arranged, and it may be noted that in the Maiden and Hokio Hack there are 18 acceptors for each division. Betting will be win-and-place. Main interest will be displayed in the Levin Handicap and the McDonald Memorial, as candidates for the New Zealand Cup and the Stewards’ Handicap will be having their final public outings in these events. As winners are liable to rehandicap form may have some backers in a tangle. Still. Don Quex and The Monarch look like being prominent in the Levin Handicap, and Tara King anti Theolateral may extend Clarice in the sprint. Plenty of recent form is available as a guide for the other events, and with a number of improvers likely to show up the programme looks like being an interesting one.
