INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
AWARD TO N.Z. CAPTAIN (Special Correspondent—N.Z.P. A.) Recd. 6 p.m. London, Nov. 18. Captain Rex King, of Christchurch, won the first prize of £2O awarded by the Royal Society of Arts for an essay competition on industrial design. The candidates were asked to give a reasonable scheme for (1) an increase in general appreciation by Ihe public of well-designed things; <2> for improved methods of education and I raining of those desiring to become devgners for industry. Captain King won the prisoners of war section of the competition.
