LOW AFRICAN LOSSES
FLYING FORTRESSES Recd. 6 p.m. London, Nov. 18. United States Flying Fortresses in their first year’s operations in the North African theatre destroyed or damaged 1340 enemy planes and dropped 26,101 tons of bombs in Tunisia, Libya, Sardinia, Pantellerai, Italy, France, and Germany. Only 87 Fortresses were lost from all causes. This is believed to bo a new record for low losses in any theatre.
