ODDFELLOWS’ LODGE

INSTALLATION CEREMONY The installation of olliceres of United Encampment No. 8, Palmerston North, Independent Order ot Oddfellows (N.Z.) was held in Wanganui recently. The installing officer was District Deputy Grand Sire G. F. Rudkin, P.G.M., P.C.P., of Wellington, assisted by the Grand Treasurer of Australasia, D. F. Smillie, P.G.M., P.G.P., of Palmerston North, and Patriarchs A. T. Richmond, W. J. Thomson, W. Tredea, H. Finch, and R. Stewart all of Wellington. Bro. A. L. Robb, D.G.M., N.Z., was also present. The following were installed:— P.C.P., E. Persson, Palmerston NorthChief Patriarch, O. M. Larsen, Wanganui; Senior Warden, J. Ax, Palmerston North; High Priest, G. Shelley, Palmerston North; Junior Warden, G. Allardyce, Wanganui; Financial Scribe, G. Turner, Palmerston North; .Patriarchs, F. L. Armstrong, J. J. Morgan, A. Karton, A. Matthews, J. McKeras, K. Farmer, W. Lynch, O. Persson, B. Isted, L. Howarth, C. Breton, D. H. Taylor, and G. Todman, appointed officers. Bro. C. F. Rudkin paid a tribute to District Reg. Roche, recently killed in action.

The retiring Chief Patriarch also spoke and congratulated the new Chief Patriarch, and also the Wanganui members of the encampment. Greetings were forwarded by D. F. Smillie, P.G.M., P.C.P., A. L. Robb, D.G.M., F. L. Armstrong, D.D.G.M., and the Wellington members ot the installing team. The new Chief Patriarch. Bro. O. M. Larsen, expressed confidence in the future of the encampment.
