WANGANUI TENNIS

ASSOCIATION MEETING Presided over by Mr. G. P. Williamson. the annual meeting of the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association was held recently. Although membership shows a substantial decrease owing to the war, the various clubs are carrying on in a detemrined effort to keep the game .going, states the annual report. Ii is the association’s policy to husband its resources and be prepared for the resumption of inter-club and interassociation activity. A decidedly optimistic tone was evident when it be' came .known 'that a limited supply o( balls would be available and an eifort is to be made to arrange games between the various centres in the association. Mr. J. Ward suggested that the incoming executive conduct a junior tournament this season, and Mr. N. R. Bain strongly supported the proposal. Another proposal likely to be carried into effect is lor a veterans’ tournament. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr. J. Harold; president, Mr. G. P. Williamson; vice-presidents, Messrs N.
