SUPREME WAR EFFORT
Recd. 6 p.m. Ottawa, Nov. 15. The Prime Minister. Mr. Mackenzie King, denied having said that the war might be over any day now, as reported by the Premier of Quebec, Mr. Godbout. Mr. Mackenzie King added: “Nobody can predict the length of the war. A supreme effort still has to be made against the Germans. I agree with Mr. Churchill's warning that the European campaign in 1944 will be the severest and costliest in 'lives of any we have yet fought.”
