WENHAM CUP FINAL During last week the final game In the Wenham Cup competition was played on the Cosmopolitan Club green, when Power Board (S. Hendra) and Trinity (P. Mailman) met again. Many supporters witnessed an interesting game, the result of which hung in the balance until the last. With the score 20-19 in Power Board’s favour and Trinity lying the shot, Hendra had his last bowl to play. It was an excited gallery that watched that last bowl roll up to promote another Power Board bowl and so win the game, Power Board 21, Trinity 19. Champion Pairs and Singles. With the other competitions finished attention is focussed on the pairs and singles champion of champions games, the first or eliminating rounds of which were played last Pairs: Power Board 22, v. A.O.F. week and resulted:— Lodge 16. Singles: Trinity 23, v. Fire Auxiliary 14. This week’s games and greens are: Pairs. —Cosmopolitan Club v. M.U. Lodge, on Trinity green; Bishop Lodge v. Fire Brigade, on Cosmopolitan Club green; Power Board v. Trinity, on Bishop Lodge green; and Aramoho Druids v. Fire Auxiliary, on M.U. Lodge green. Singles.—Cosmopolitan Club v. Aramtiho Druids, on M.U. Lodge green; M.U. Lodge v. Fire Brigade, on Cosmopolitan Club green; Trinity v. A.O.F. Lodge, on Aromoho Druids’ green; and Power Board v. Bishop Lodge, on Trinity green. Games are to be played on or before October 7. Trinity accepted a last-minute challenge for the Signal Challenge Shield from another team from the M.U. Lodge, but P. Anderson’s quartette again proved too good and thereby still retain the shield. The score was 'Trinity 24. M.U. Lodge 16.
