DIFFICULTIES IN WARTIME Though the year had been difficult all members had co-operated, said the president. Mr. H. S. Harman, at the annual meeting recently of the Wanganui branch of the New Zealand Retail Motor Trade Association. He expressed the view that members of the motor trade would be called on to play a prominent part in thf* rehabilitation of returned serviceman after the war. Mr. Harman also referred to the excellent services being rendered by the retail motor trade in Wellington, where officers had been in consultation with the Government and had helped considerably in making conditions for trade much more satisfactory than was previously thought possible. When officers for the ensuing year were being elected, Mr. Harman asked to be relieved of the position of president owing to continued illhealth. but at the unanimous wish of all present he was re-elected. Messrs. D. Martin (Wanganui). C. W. Preecc(Marton) and A. B. Cunningham (Waverley) were elected as vicepresidents. Mr. J. S’. Wilson was elected treasurer. Mr. A. R. Donaldson secretary, and Mr. T. Ward (Marton) was nominated as a councillor on the Dominion Council.
