GERMAN CIVIL SERVANT Reed. 6 p.m. London, Sept. 1. Berlin radio announced that a senior civil servant, Herr H. Korselt, aged 52. was executed for undermining the defensive strength of the German people. “By wicked and defeatist phrases and -spreading rumours/' the radio said, “he jeopardised the morale of the German front and thereby betrayed the German fighting front. There is only one punishment for such criminals—death.”
