DETERMINED IHRUST BY RUSSIANS Recd. 7.30 p.m. Rugby, Aug. 28. Last night Soviet aircraft attacked the railway junction of Poltava. Volova kha and Roslavl, according to to Moscow radio. Direct hits were scored on several military trains. Fires broke out, the flames spreading to many trains. On the same night Soviet aircraft attacked a number of enemy aerodromes. Numerous fires started, followed by powerful explosions. Two Soviet planes failed to return. A supplementary Soviet communique says: “West of Kharkov one Red Army formation wiped out 609 Hitlerites. At Zenkov Soviet troops repelled several fierce counter-attacks and. developing the offensive, occupied Important positions. Eight hundred Germans were killed. South of Kharkov Soviet troops were pushed back after strenuous fighting ?n which the Germans lost 1000 killed.
