NEW ANTI-TANK GUN
AUSTRALIAN ENTERPRISE Recd. 7 p.m. Melbourne, Aug. 27. A new type of anti-tank gun, a later model than the 6-pounuer <; ing ..applied to the British armies in the Mediterranean area, was in. production in Australia, said the Minister of Muni lions, Mr. Makin, and deliveries were already being made to the Army. This was only on? instance in which the development of production of a new weapon had proceeded almor l simultaneous.y in Australia and the United Kingdom, said Mr. Makin. Time would justify his assertion that the production of t >;s weapon was one of the most creditable performances yet put up by the Australian munitions industry.
