CITY STILL BURNING

MOSQUITOES MAKE RAID Recd. 7 p.m. Rugby, Aug. 26. Berlin was still burning last night when R.A.F. Mosquitoes went over for another attack just be.ore 11 o’clock They were flying at a great height, but even from there our airmen could see patches of embers glowing in the city below. Berlin's anti-aircraft defences gave the raiders a warm reception. The Germans regard these attacks by Mosquitoes as nuisance raids, but last night, in the words of one pilot, they sent up as heavy a barrage as though the R.A.F. was there in force. They turned out hundreds of searchlights and seemed to use every gun they had. It was pretty expensive for the*Germans, for they must have used up thousands of rounds of ammunition.—B.O.W.
