Wickham presided at the quarterly meeting ot tne Wanganui provincial ot the x Womens Division ot the f armers’ Union, there being a good representative attendance. Cases were cited of members of W.D., who could not tiferd to go away lor a rest or convalescence after illness, being sent co tne vy.u. nome at me vmeic branch. Mrs. Graham paid a tribute to Mrs. Wickham and those who had done the spade work for tne nome. Miss Macdonald, housekeeping secretary, reported that six cases nau oeen supplied with housexeepers since their last meeting, but many urgent xequests from people desperate lor help had to be refused. The two women employed by the Provincial had now left them and the position was becoming difficult. So many young women were m Army jobs ana the oidei ones were in danger of losing their Social Security pay it tney toK up this work.
