SOLDIER-LABOUR PARTY

DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES (P.A.) Christchurch, March 16. The Democratic Labour Party has decided on a change of name. In future it will be known as the Democratic Soldier-Labour Party. This information was received in Christchurch by the local secretary, Mr. Douglas Cresswell, by telephone from Mr. J. A. Lee, M.P., in Auckland. Mr. Cresswell said that most, if not all, South Island seats will be contested at the next general election. One-third of the candidates would be drawn from returned soldiers from the present war.
