SUPPLIES OF SHELL ROCK

KAIWHAIKI PLANT REMOVED

Some of the machinery and plant at the Wanganui Harbour Board's Kaiwhaiki quarries had been removed to Castlecliff and would remain there till further supplies of shellrock: could be obtained, said the engineer, Mr. R. R. Dawson, at the board’s monthly meeting yesterday. Reporting on the board's operating plant, the engineer stated that the work punt had been placed on the slip for repairs. When the punt was available bollards and fenders requiring renewal on the up-river end of the Town Wharf would receive attention.

Repairs were being carried out on the No. 2 wharf. Castlecliff. Rock buttress work had been continued intermittently on this wharf as opporrunity offered, and would probably be completed to the intersection of No. 1 wharf within the next two weeks.
