WANGANUI BOWLING CENTRE SATURDAY’S RESULTS. Clubs in the Wanganui Bowling Centre continued their Fours Competitions on Saturday, under ideal weather conditions. At the St. John's Club green a number of club championship games were played. Next Saturday the Gordon Cup Pairs Competition, a Centre fixture, will be decided on the St. John’s Club green. WANGANUI EAST CLUB. Club lull rink competitions were played at the Wanganui East Bowling Club on Saturday, when the attendance was not as large as usual. Results are:— T. The third and final round of the Shield competition between the Cosmopolitan Bowling Club and Victoria Club was played on the Cosmopolitan green on Saturday. JOHN’S CLUB There was a good variety of play at St. John's Bowling Club’s greens on Saturday as, in addition to elimination games for the club fours championship, the final (as it turned out to be) of the A Pairs, a semifinal game in the Gordon Pairs, also a “Ferns” game and a “friendly” game with a Rapanui Club four, besides practice games for other members.

Hay, Hamilton, Woods, Mackay 14. The latter game counted for threes only. Bourne was eliminated and Carrad and Ormsby qualify. Second Round: Simpson, Suddaby, Woods, Mackay 11, v. P. Whitlock, Rickard, Shaw, Hutchinson 104. Hutchinson and Shaw were eliminated. Mackay and Woods qualify. Fixed teams will be drawn from these players and the semi-finals will be played on Saturday, March 26.

The win of F. Ansell and J. Glover (two lives) over Sedon and Benefield (one life) in the A Pairs championship, places Glover in the proud position of being both senior singles and pairs winner for the season. His win in the singles, over Kirkwood, makes his sixth in succession and seventh in all, a very fine record, indeed. In addition, Glover won the centre champion of champion singles, for the third time.

The club’s "B” singles final was won by W. Goddard from W. Anderson after a closely-contested game that equalled the standard of the best senior games. This remark applies to several other games in this competition.

The B Pairs winners were J. Kirk, jnr. and H. Lee from Allen and D. Taylor. Taylor won the first game but as Lee had two lives a second game was necessary. Both pairs played excellent games.
