REBUFF TO PRESIDENT

U.S. SALARY LIMITATION REVOKED

Recd. 7 p.m. Washington, March 13 By 268 votes to 131 the House of Representatives passed the Disney Bill, in which President Roosevelt’s order to limit all salaries to 25,000 dollars a year is revoked.

The New York Times expresses the opinion that the Bill is specifically designed as a rebuke to Mr. Roosevelt for his alleged usurpation of legislative power. It is the sharpest reprimand a President has ever suffered from the House of Representatives, and perhaps the only case in American history when the House has revoked an Executive order purely as a disciplinary measure.
