SUCCESSFUL SEASON
TAWHERO GOLF CLUB SEVENTH ANNUAL REPORT. A successful season, with an enthusiastic membership, and a cash balance on the right side of the ledger, were features of the annual report of the Tawhero Golf Club, presented by the president, Mr. J. Saltinstall, to the annual meeting on Saturday. Though most of the younger members of the club were overseas "on the road to Tokio,” the older members had "kept the divots flying,” though inter-club matches had not been practicable. Over fifty trophies, including ten annual cups, had been played for during the season. Thanks were extended to Mr. and Mrs. D. McMillan for co-operation with the club at all times, Mr. F. Bristol for donation of Christmas trophies, the Wanganui City Council for the care bestowed on greens and fairways, and the Press for featuring the club’s activities.
