NUFFIELD GIFT
WARM PRESS TRIBUTES London, Feb. 13. Warm tributes are paid in the national Press to Lord Nuffield, following the announcement that he intends to hand over to trustees his shareholdings in the Nuffield organisation to the value of £10,000,000 as a capital fund to found a charitable trust which will be known as the “Nuffield Foundation.” The Times, stating that the new benefaction is essentially a gift to Gie Empire and should go far to secure the setting up in Brirtain of £reat centres of scientific investigation where the pioneering mind can work untrammelled. The Daily Telegraph describes Lord Nuffield as one of the greatest stimulators of industrial progreses in our time. The estimated annual income of the trust is £400,000, free of tax.
