GENEROUS GIFT
FOR BLIND SAILORS AND SOLDIERS FUND (P.A.) Wellington, Feb. 15. A generous gift of £2OO in cash and £2OO in 1956 3 per cent. Inscribed Stock has been made by Mrs. J. G. Gilchrist, Christchurch, to the Commercial Travellers’ and Warehousemen’s Association of Otago on behalf of the Blind Sailors and Soldiers’ Fund. This fund was organised after the last war by an executive comprising committee members of the Commercial Travellers’ Association in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch ana Dunedin, and has remained under the control of this executive ever since. It is the only fund of its nature not directly organised and controlled by the National Patriotic Fund Board.
Mrs. Gilchrist said she .had been influenced in making the gift, which was in memory of her late husband, Sydney Gilchrist, by the report of the work achieved by the organisers of the fund made during the recent visit of the Governor-General to Dunedin.
