STRONG NAZI PROTEST
DEMONSTRATIONS IN ITALY RESENTED (Recd. 7.30 p.m.) London, Dec. 31. The German Ambassador to Rome, General von Mackensen, lodged a strong protest “with the Italian Government against recent anti-German demonstrations in Rome, Naples and Genoa.” says Reuter's Ankara correspondent. Von Mackensen protested that the Italian Government was not energetic enough in suppressing revolutionary movements, and is reported to have threatened German intervention if the demonstrations continued.
