WAR SERVICE PENSIONS
INCREASE IN AUSTRALIA (Recd. 8 p.m. ) Canberra, Jan. 1. All-round increases of 2u per cent, in war sendee pension rates have been recommended by the Parliamentary Joint Committee on repatriation problems. The additional cost to the Australian Government is estimated at £1,068,000. The decisions include an increase from £2 to £2 10s in the pension for totally incapacitated soldiers and for soldiers' widows.
