PROSPECTS AT ELLERSLIE (Special.) Auckland, Dec. 30. The Auckland summer racing carnival will be advanced a further stage at Ellerslie on Friday, when the principal events will be the Great Northern Derby and the Auckland Racing Club Handicap. The meeting concludes on Saturday of next week, when Kindergarten is . expected to contest the weight-for-age mile and a-quarter event, the Clifford Plate, in which he will not have many opponents.
