AXIS LOSSES
(Recd. 9.10 p.m.) London. Dec. 28. Reuter’s Moscow correspondent estimates that the losses of the Germans and their vassals since the beginning of the Soviet autumn offensives have been about 400,000 killed and taken prisoner. Losses in tanks and planes had been sufficiently high to present an awkward problem for the Germans.
