RECEIPTS DECLINE

WANGANUI NATIONAL SAVINGS “Although nine offices in the Wanganui postal district were successful in flying their quota-achieved emblems last week the cash receipts show a decline on the figures for the preceding week,” said the district organiser, Mr, J. Gillick, yesterday. Last week’s district total amounted to £3479, compared with £3938 for the previous week. The actual cash receipts amounted to £2911 10s, a decrease of £367 10s for the week, and bond sales realised £937, these also showing a decline of £228. In the Wanganui city area in vestments totalled £1744 10s, an increase of £226 17s over the previous week’s figures. The investors who contributed to Wanganui's success numbered 2835, of which total 1325 were group depositors in business establishments. The successful offices for the week were: Hunterville (51 weeks), Aramoho and Marton (49), and Wanganui (48) all successive weeks Other offices were: Taihape (41 weeks), Ohingaiti (28), Waverley (26), Ohakune (26), and Mangaweka (24). Patea, with a record of 35 weeks to its credit, missed its objective by only £lB.
