RAGS FOR FORCES

GIRL GUIDES TO COLLECT THIS WEEK. A house-to-house collection of rags for the Army Navy and the Air Force was commenced on Saturday by the Wanganui Girl Guides on behalf ol the waste reclamation organisation. Mrs. R. Scoular, District Commisioner, said the g:rls met with success on the first day. The drive will continue throughout this week. Anyone who has rags which have not been called for are asked to let their nearest Girl Guide or Guider know and they will be pleased to call again. People who have a quantity of rags to give to the Girl Guides and are not going to be at home when the collectors call are asked to leave their contributions on the verandah or doorstep. The rags most needed are clean cotton or silk, about I'6 inches by 24, but rags of any size or colour are useful.
