D.S.C. AWARD ANNOUNCED
NEW ZEALANDER IN 'NAVY
(P.A.) Wellington, Sept. 25 Advice has been received that, on the occasion of the King's birthday ; His Majesty has approved the a warn of the Distinguished Service Cross to Temporary - Lieutenant Malcolm Campbell Waylen, R.N.V.R. An Admiralty Fleet order which has just been received states that the award was for outstanding zeal, patience and cheerfulness and for never failing to set an example of whole hearted devotion to duty. In October, 1940, Lieut. Waylen was entered in New Zealand for service in the Royal Navy. He returned to New Zealand recentlv to take up duty with the Royal New Zealand Navy.
