ENEMY ALIENS IN U.S.
New York, Sept. 22. The director of enemy control, Mr. Edward Ennis, disclosed to-day that 6800 enemy aliens had been arrested between the outbreak of the war and September 1. Of these 50 per cent, were interned, 35 per cent, were oarolcd and 15 per cent, were released. Mr. Ennis estimated there were 1.250,000 enemy aliens in the United States, of whom many were obviously friendlv. The chief problem, he said, was to separate the good from the bod.
