POLITICAL APPOINTMENTS IN BRITAIN
Rugby, July 1. The King has approved the appointment of Lord Portal as Minister of Works and Planning, and also o£ Messrs. George Hicks and H. G. Strauss as joint Parliamentary Secretaries in the same Ministry. Lord Portal continues as First Commissioner of Works and Public Buildings.—B.O.W.
