HUNTERVILLE W.D.F.U.
MONTHIA MEETING HELD The monthly meeting of the Hunterville W.D.F.U. was held in St. Andrew’s Hall. Mrs. A. Harre presiding over a very good attendance of members. A vote of sympathy was passed to Mrs. A. Bull in the loss of her father. Mrs. Arkwright, of Marton, gave a talk on the work of the Navy League, this being very Interesting. Mrs. Gordon demonstrated a design of floral work. Both ladies received a hearty vote of thanks. Two solos were sung by Mrs. Brown. Mrs. S. McAlley being pianist for the afternoon. Mrs. Harre presented Mrs. Weston, on behalf of the members, with a beautiful vase in appreciation of her many years as president. Mrs. Weston suitably replied. Posies were presented to Mesdames Weston. Arkwright, Gordon anti Morrison. A birthday social afternoon will be held at the next meeting. June 11. Instead of a birthday cake this year, three cakes are to be bought and posted to soldiers, names to be pooled. . W.D. members with sons overseas are requested to send in names and addresses before next meeting. Competition winners were: Scones. Mrs. Abel 1. Mrs. Kilmister 2. Mrs. , W. Simpson 3. Last year’s points prizes were won and presented to Mesdames J. Abel and McAlley. The competition for next meeting will be. "Something new from something old.” these to be donated to an orphanage. The hostesses at afternoon tea were Mesdames L. Hammond and Leaning.
