REDUCTION ANNOUNCED
SAVINGS BANK DEPOSITS • p.AJ Wellington, May 17 A decision to reduce the rate of in forest payable on Savings Bank de posits from 3 per cent, to 2’ per cent as from June 1 next, was announce by the acting-Minisler of Finance, th Hon. P. Fraser, to-night. The re duction will apply to deposits of £5O or under in the Post Office Saving Banks, to deposits in trustee saving banks and to deposits in savings de partments of other institutions.
