COMFORTS PURCHASED WITH AMERICANS’ GIFTS (P.A.) Wellington, May 15. As a result of an Anzac Day dinner in New York, at which the New Zea- ( land Minister in Washington, Hgu. W. Nash, was present, the New Zea- i land Patriotic Fund is to benefit by ' 5000 dollars. The money, according to a decision j of the board’s standing committee, is] to be used in the purchase of writing i materia] and paper to be forwarded to j New Zealand for distribution by the | board. The board has decided to pur- | chase a mobile talking picture unit to ' .service outlying troops in Fiji and also to purchase 50 battery-operated radio sets for these troops. Th? library service report shows that lo date 152,135 books and 163,513 period:- | cals have been issued to the Navy, I Army, and Air Force.
