Park, officer commanding the N.Z.E.F. in the United .vingaoni, has completed an inspection! of the N.Z. Forestry Companies in different parts ol England. Be was inlormed that their initiative in adapting New Zealand methods to English' conditions had been specially commented on by British Army officers, and that they are regarded as among lhe finest hardwood workers in England to-day. Their April output oi sawn timber was 91,000 cubic lect, and they produced 25,000 cubic feet in the lirsl week of May. Sappers C. B. Thompson, A. B. Crawford and T. H. Illingworth recently stayed with the Canadian Forestry Unit observing their methods. All the New Zealand companies are shortly undergoing their annual period of military training, including antiinvasion exercises, when they will combine with Held units, also Home Guards. There is no doubt that these forestry units are making a valuable contribution to the war effort.
