SHOOTING NATIVE GAME

MEWS OF ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY The Wanganui Acclimatisation Society has decided to inform the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. W. E. Parry, that because of present-day conditions, the society thinks that a closed season for shooting native game should be observed throughout the Dominion. If, however, other societies ask for an open season and the Minister agrees, then the Wanganui Society will also ask for an open season. as suggested by the Minister. The Minister has announced that he is prepared to declare an open season for shooting native game from May 2 to 17 at existing licence fees if societies so desire. The Wanganui Society thinks it would not be practicable to have open and closed seasons in adjoining districts.
