RATIONING OF FUEL London, March 17. The rationing of fuel is the latest restriction on the British public. It was stated in the House of Commons to-day that a comprehensive scheme for fuel rationing will be introduced as soon as possible. Dr. Hugh Dalton, President of the Board of Trade, said that a report was now being pi epared, but he did not intend to wait for the report before taking immediate action. Coal rationing had just come into force, and there must be serious rationing in the domestic uses of gas and electricity. Dr. Dalton was replying to a debate on the coal situation. Referring to supplies, he said that they had just scraped through so far, but before next autumn they must increase production and diminish consumption. The demand foi wa> industries was still rising, and unless they could get coal they could not get arms.
